Day 5

Today I was not in my house that long, mostly because of Christmas shopping, so I did not really experience anything different than any of the other days. Last night though I did sleep with all 3 of my blankets on. The reason Emily Dickinson's poems are still popular today are because her poems were written mainly about simple, yet beautiful things in nature that transcend time. Her poems' subjects were and still are easily recognizable. This aspect helps her poems transcend time and have cemented her legacy as one of the best poets ever. A few of Emily Dickinson's themes were love, death, and nature overall. Emily used these themes in very unusual ways which made her poems quite entertaining to read. Because of these themes she was, and is thought of as very original and authentic.
