Day 6
Living with less heat has not been that bad all week, but today was probably the worst. Sundays are always football days, which means I'm sitting in my living room, the coldest room in the house, for long periods of time. It became cold enough to wear a sweatshirt while sitting on my couch. Anyway the Transcendentalist quote that I chose is "Nothing astonishes men so much as common sense and plain dealing,"by Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote embodies my week because everyone takes having heat for granted. During this week I learned that we should be happy that heat is so easily available to most people in our society. Less than 100 years ago many people had to huddle around fires or live the winter in coldness. Because of heat we are able to prevail through even the harshest winters.
